Every project is thoroughly reviewed and discussed ensuring all details are known before commencement of Design. A Project Manager is appointed to oversee every aspect of the Project from Design to Completion to ensure total success is realized. We at JC Smale believe sound Engineering on the front end provides the necessary conditions to avoid unnecessary situations during the manufacturing and commissioning stages. We use some of the latest software such Solidworks and CoCreate 3D CAD design packages, Space Gas for engineering computations, to assist in developing, calculating and selecting appropriate materials and components to ensure our designs are engineered correctly.

In conjunction with our careful attention to Mechanical design, a dedicated team of Control engineers utilize motion simulation packages to accurately determine cycle times and create programs offline to minimize lost time during the commissioning stages. We use software such as RoboGuide, PalletTool proprietary tools provided by Fanuc Robotics. Our Controls group has successfully integrated automated control systems worldwide. Most of our systems have been controlled using some of the world’s renowned suppliers such as Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s and SEW Eurodrive AC frequency control drives. We also provide Safety PLC’s to more complex type of automated equipment.

We design and manufacture all the peripheral equipment such as Custom Built sub assemblies, special purpose conveyors, alignment devices, End of Arm Tooling with the addition of also working together with Integrators from other industries, to provide the best and most economic solution to suit customers needs. Our company’s philosophy is quite simple, Design, Build and Commission automated solutions that provided added benefit to increasing productivity and reducing work related injuries. They must be simple in function and maintenance “friendly”.

During the commissioning stages of the project, our Field and Project Engineers work together with the Plant personnel to ensure the correct understanding of the system, maintenance and total operation to ensure a smooth transition during handover.
